How to set up multi-factor authentication in Dockwa

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds a second step when you sign in, so your account stays safe even if someone gets your password. Anyone with a Dockwa account — boaters and marina staff alike — can turn on MFA themselves, right from their account settings or during sign-up. No need to contact us. It takes about two minutes.

  1. Log in to Dockwa.

  2. Go to My Account → Login & Security.

  3. Under multi-factor authentication, click Add method and pick one:

    • Passkey — use Face ID, Touch ID, or your device's screen lock. Fastest option.

    • Authenticator app (TOTP) — scan the QR code with any authenticator app (1Password, Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator) and enter the 6-digit code to confirm.

  4. Done! Next time you sign in, we'll ask for your second factor after your password.

Note: we don't support text-message (SMS) codes — email codes and Passkeys are safer. If your marina requires MFA, you'll be prompted to set it up automatically the next time you log in.
