Your customers can open, sign and pay for their contract straight from the email you send, without creating a Dockwa account. This works for every contract on Dockwa billing.
What your customers see
If their email already has a Dockwa account, they're asked to sign in, or they can skip.
If it doesn't, they can create a free account or choose Continue as Guest.
Either way they review the contract, add a payment method and any documents you require, and sign. The signed copy arrives by email.
The boater-facing steps are in How to complete and sign your Dockwa contract agreement. You can share that link with your customers.
Before you send
Use the Dockwa account filter (Linked / Not linked) on your contract group to see which customers have a Dockwa account. Customers who are not linked will sign as guests.
Payment methods added by a guest
A card or bank account added while signing as a guest is saved to that contract only. Each scheduled payment is charged to it automatically.
You can use it for other charges on that reservation.
It won't appear in the customer's saved payment methods, at your point of sale, or on another reservation. This is expected.
Signing links
Links work for 60 days from the first email, and reminder emails use the same link.
If a link has expired, your customer sees "We couldn't open this contract" and can click Request a new link. If they've requested several and they aren't arriving, resend the contract from your dashboard.
Contracts sent before November 2, 2026 used a link that required an account. Your customer's next weekly reminder includes the new link, or you can resend the contract now.
Common questions
"They signed, but still show Not linked." Expected if they signed as a guest. If they create a Dockwa account later with the same email, the records connect. See Understanding customer account linking in Dockwa.
"Can they pay an invoice without an account?" Not yet. Payment reminder and invoice emails still ask the customer to log in. They can create a free account with the email you have on file.
