Dockwa boater frequently asked questions

1. Does Dockwa provide real-time availability for marinas?

Answer: No. Dockwa does not provide 100% real-time availability. Marinas manage their own inventory, and factors like dock configuration or waitlist policies mean that availability you see is an estimate until the marina confirms your request.


2. Will my card be charged when submitting a reservation request?

Answer: No. Payment is not charged upfront. Your card is saved on file and will only be charged once the marina confirms your reservation.


3. Does every marina on Dockwa have the same cancellation policy?

Answer: No. Each marina sets its own unique cancellation policy, which can be found in the “Info” section of the marina’s Dockwa profile.


4. When will I know if my reservation request is confirmed?

Answer: You will receive a confirmation email once the marina confirms your reservation. Many marinas display their typical response time on their Dockwa profile to help set expectations.


5. Can I change the dates of my confirmed reservation on my Dockwa account?

Answer: No. Date changes must be handled directly by the marina, as they need to verify availability. You can use the message feature in your confirmed reservation to request a date change.


6. I canceled my reservation and received a full refund. How long will it take to appear in my account?

Answer: Refunds typically process within 3–7 business days, though your bank may take longer.


7. Why do some marinas display on Dockwa but don’t take reservations?

Answer: Some marinas choose not to accept online reservations for their own reasons. Dockwa still lists them so boaters can discover more marinas in their area.


8. What’s the difference between an inquiry and a reservation request?

Answer:

  • Inquiries: Used to ask about long-term dockage, storage, or other marina services.

  • Reservation requests: Used for short-term transient dockage or moorage.


9. Do I need to contact Dockwa Support to make a reservation?

Answer: No. Dockwa Support cannot make reservations on your behalf, but they can guide you through the process. Marinas can also make reservations for you if necessary.
