Please watch the tutorial video below to see the changes in action!

Key Differences Between the Legacy and New Reservation Systems

1. Adding Discounts

Legacy System:

• Discounts were applied directly on the reservation screen.

New System:

• Discounts are accessed through the Edit button on the reservation.

Steps to apply a discount:

1. Select the Edit button.

2. Choose Discount from the dropdown menu.

3. Enter the discount details (e.g., discount name, dollar amount or percentage).

2. Adding Adjustment Fees or Charges

Legacy System:

• Adjustment fees or charges were separate options available directly on the reservation screen.

New System:

• This functionality is housed under the Add Item button.

Steps to add an adjustment fee or charge:

1. Click Add Item on the reservation screen.

2. Choose the type of fee or charge (e.g., transient fee, electric charge, pump-out fee).

3. Enter the details, such as amount, tax and due date.

3. Editing or Removing Items

Legacy System:

• Individual items were not able to be removed on the legacy system

New System:

To edit or remove an item:

1. Use the three-dot menu to the right of the item and select Remove to delete it. Note, if this item has been paid for it will trigger a refund invoice.

2. To edit, add a new version of the item with updated details.

• You can also configure items to “move with the reservation,” meaning any date changes to the reservation will automatically adjust the item’s associated billing.

Example:

• Add an electric item charged at $25 per day.

• Select Per Day within the Advanced Options and enable it to bill with the reservation dates.

• Changes to the reservation dates will update the total automatically.

4. Accessing Additional Items via Point-of-Sale Tool

The new system integrates seamlessly with the point-of-sale tool:

• Select the Add Item button.

• Navigate to the point-of-sale tool to add additional services or products.

Summary

While the new reservation system retains all the core functionalities of the legacy system, it reorganizes them into a more user-friendly and versatile interface. Key actions like adding discounts, adjustment fees, or charges are now streamlined, making it easier to manage reservations while providing greater flexibility for billing and customization.
