Enhancements to Dockwa’s Transient Reservation Tool

Learn to use Dockwa's updated Transient Reservation System with new billing tools, custom revenue items, and streamlined payment management

Updated over 2 months ago

Please watch the tutorial video below to see the changes listed below in action.

What’s New?

1. Flexible Billing Schedules

You now have access to a variety of customized billing schedules that can be changed based on reservation length:

How to Set Default Billing Schedules:

1. Navigate to the Settings section in your Dockwa account.

2. Select the Reservations tab.

3. Choose the desired billing schedule as the default for transient reservations.

Tip: Setting these schedules in advance saves time and ensures consistency when reservations are requested or created.

2. Customizable Revenue Categories for Dockage and Moorage

Dockwa now offers enhanced tools for managing dockage and moorage revenue items directly from the Point-of-Sale (POS) system.

How to Create and Customize Revenue Items:

1. Go to Sales > Items.

2. Select New Item and then select Boat Storag” as the item type.

3. Assign a category and ensure that Reservation Billing is checked off within the Availability section.

4. Save the item.

5. Set it as the default for reservation billing under the Settings section.

Note: You can rename categories and items to align with your marina’s specific needs.

3. Enhanced Payment Flexibility

Reverse and Reapply Payments:

Mistakes happen! Now, you can reverse a payment and reapply it to a different method:

1. Click on the payment row within the reservation.

2. Reverse the payment to move it back to an unsettled state.

3. Choose a new payment method and settle it again.

Add or Remove Items on Invoices:

Easily update reservations by adding or removing items:

To remove an item:

1. Click the three-dot menu next to the item.

2. Choose Remove.

3. If already paid, this triggers a refund. If unpaid, it simply removes the item.

Pro Tip: These tools make it easy to correct errors or adjust reservations without hassle!
