Track and Manage Drystack Launches with Full Visibility and Control

Stay organized, keep boaters informed, and ensure accuracy for every launch.

Dockwa’s Drystack Launch system gives marina teams the tools they need to manage daily launch operations with confidence. This guide outlines how the Drystack feature works — including launch visibility, notifications, audit history, and operational controls — so you can run a smooth and transparent drystack operation from start to finish.

What You Can Do with Drystack Launches

Track the Full History of Every Launch with the Audit Log

The Audit Log provides a detailed record of all launch activity — showing you exactly who did what, when, and why.

You can use it to:

  • See each launch’s full history with timestamps and user attribution

  • Track all status changes (Scheduled, Launched, Returned, Cancelled)

  • Understand whether a launch was created by a boater or staff member

  • Search by boat name, boater, status, or staff name

This is especially useful when:

  • Investigating a damage claim

  • Resolving a scheduling dispute

  • Reviewing staff activity or accountability

You can access up to 1 year of launch history through the Audit Log.

Click View Launch Reports to access the Audit Log:

Keep Boaters in the Loop with Automatic Notifications

Boaters are automatically notified when:

  • Their boat is Launched

  • Their boat is Returned to the rack

These notifications are sent via:

  • Email

  • Push notification

  • In-app messages

This helps reduce phone calls to the office and gives boaters peace of mind that their boat is where it should be.

Notifications are automatic and currently not customizable — but they’re delivered using Dockwa’s existing messaging tools.

Maintain Accurate Records by Marking Boats as Returned (Not Cancelled)

Once a boat is marked as Launched, it cannot be cancelled. This prevents accidental data loss and ensures every boat movement is recorded properly in the Audit Log.

To complete a launch, staff should mark the boat as Returned when it comes back in.

If something changes after a launch has started, marking it as Returned is the correct way to close it out.

Prioritize What Needs to Be Stowed with “Ready to Return” Status

Marina staff and boaters can mark a boat as Ready to Return, indicating that it’s waiting to be stowed. These boats will appear at the top of the queue for easy visibility.

This helps your team know exactly what needs attention first — without needing to ask the office.

View Important Boat Info Right from the Launch Card

Each launch card includes the key information your drivers need:

  • Boat name

  • Make and model

  • Length

  • Rack or slip assignment

This helps forklift drivers prepare equipment and locate the boat without extra steps or radio calls. On mobile, this info appears via a quick-access tooltip.

Block Launch Scheduling During Daily Breaks

Need to block out a lunch break or driver downtime? You can set a Daily Break Window in your Drystack Settings to prevent boaters from scheduling launches during that time.

The Drystack Settings page can be found by clicking Settings under the My Account dropdown on your Dashboard.

  • Define one consistent time window (e.g. 12–1 PM)

  • Boaters will see those times as unavailable when booking

  • Breaks are optional and easy to adjust
