How to fix a “reset password token is invalid” error

Steps to use the most recent password reset link and regain access to your account

If you see the error message:

“1 error prohibited this user from being saved: Reset password token is invalid”

When trying to reset your password, it means you are using an outdated or invalid password reset link.

Why This Happens

  • Each password reset request generates a new reset link (token).

  • If you’ve requested multiple resets, only the most recent email will work.

  • Using an older link will trigger this error.

How to Fix It

  1. Go to your email inbox.

  2. Locate the most recent Password Reset Instructions email.

    • Check the timestamp (time received) to confirm it’s the latest one.

    • In Gmail, reset emails may appear “stacked” in a single conversation. Open the conversation fully to find the newest reset email.

  3. Click the reset link in the latest email to continue.
