Using Dockwa’s Sale Tab
The new POS Lite tool in Dockwa is built to simplify transactions for customers who may not have an active reservation or contract but still need to purchase items at the marina. Note that this feature tool does not come with the complete feature set of the Dockwa Point of Sale module.
Below are the key steps to using this tool.
Step 1: Accessing the Point of Sale Tool
To begin, navigate to the Point of Sale tab within the navigation bar on the left hand s-de of your screen. This tab is nestled within the Sales line. The Point of Sale tab is where you will build your cart and process sales.
You’ll see three tabs under the Sales section:
Point of Sale
Items
History
For now, let’s focus on Point of Sale.
Step 2: Building a Cart and Processing Sales
From the Sales tab, start adding items to the cart.
For example, if a customer is purchasing premium gas, ice, and soda:
Add the quantity of gas they need.
The tool will automatically calculate the price based on the default rate saved under the Items tab.
Once everything is in the cart, click Checkout.
Payment Options:
You will have access to a variety of payment method options once moving on to the “Checkout” screen.
Select the payment method the customer is paying with and review the total.
To complete the transaction select the “Process Payment” button
Note: Make sure to wait for a green checkmark indicating that the transaction is successful before moving on.
Step 3: Reviewing Sales Details
After completing the sale, you can review the details by going to the Sale Details page. Here, you’ll be able to:
View the items sold.
See the email receipt sent to the customer.
Cancel the sale, if necessary, which will trigger a refund.
Remove specific items from the sale.
Adding New Items
To add new items to the POS tool, head over to the Items tab:
1. Click the New Item button in the top-right corner.
2. Choose the item type (e.g., standard).
3. Set a default price and, if needed, apply tax.
4. Choose a category for the item (e.g., "Other").
5. Click Save.
To locate the item later, use the search bar or filter by category.
Viewing Sales History
In the History tab, you can access all previous sales. This feature allows you to:
Search by customer name or boat name.
Filter sales by a specific date range.
View detailed records of each transaction, including the items sold and receipts sent.
